The Devil Made Them Do It

Apparently, the devil is to blame for the abuse of thousands upon thousands of children across the world.  Funny, I thought it was the fault of the priests abusing the children and the culture within the church for not only protecting these monsters but also allowing them to continue their ways for decades unabated.  I guess that’s why the church has refused to allow local authorities to investigate their pedophile priests.  Maybe they should have insisted that the police investigate the devil.

I cannot believe that this type of argument is being made in 2018.  We are not to blame for stopping these pedophiles because a literal monster that is pure evil with magic powers is what is making the problem so bad.

But, wait, there IS something that the church can do.  All church members around the world need to say a special prayer every night in October.  In that prayer, they need to ask an angel to defend them from the devil and to send the devil and evil ghosts back into hell.  Seems pretty foolproof to me.

I assume that the prayer is needed because god has been too busy for the past 60 or more years to notice that his anointed messengers were doing horrible things to children.  I guess he is still too busy since the Pope thinks that catholics need to plead with an angel instead of god.  I know the prayers should be enough.  But, just in case, maybe we should do things like have grand juries across the country investigate the pedophile priests and the organization that installed them, covered for them, refused to notify local police about abuse, and transferred them to other locations where they could continue preying upon the children that have been trained to trust and look up to them.  [SNAP Calls for Grand Juries].

It seems like god is really busy and probably wouldn’t mind if mere mortals took action on their own and tried to clean up this mess.

Pope blames devil for Church divisions, scandals, seeks angel’s help

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – The devil is alive and well and working overtime to undermine the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis says. In fact, the pope is so convinced that Satan is to blame for the sexual abuse crisis and deep divisions racking the Church that he has asked Catholics around the world to recite a special prayer every day in October to try to beat him back.
